This chocolate smoothie recipe that I’m sharing from Food52 is one that has been a staple of mine for years. It’s simple, nutrient dense and tastes amazing. This smoothie takes me from breakfast through to lunch, makes a great snack or hits the spot when I’ve got a chocolate craving.
My version (see below) makes one large serving or two small servings. I also love to throw a couple tablespoon of hemp seeds into a smoothie like this to increase the healthy fat, fiber and protein content.

SIMPLE CHOCOLATE SMOOTHIE
1 frozen banana
1/2-1tbsp raw cacao powder (use less or more depending on how chocolatey you want it)
2 pitted medjool dates
1 tbsp almond butter
2 tbsp hemp seeds
1-2 cups almond milk (use less or more depending on how thick you want it)
Blend together & serve. 😉
