Dr. Laura Contributes Expert Option: Intravenous Therapy

Intravenous therapy (IVT) for vitamin and nutrient infusion is a growing area of natural medicine.  IVT is most classically thought of for those battling serious chronic illnesses, however there is growing support for the use of IVT to support healthy people.

Many people benefit from high dose vitamin therapy because it is a rapid way to receive nutrients that is more effective than taking oral supplementation.  There are certain limitations to absorption of high dose oral supplements either by way of decreased gut absorption or questionable supplement concentrations.

Check out Nicole Boileau’s post for tuja wellness on IVT where I give my expert opinion about this therapy.  My colleague, Dr. Eric Marsden, one of the best providers of IVT in the Toronto area and professional instructor of IVT for Naturopathic Doctors, also shares his expert option.

I love seeing your beautiful face on tuja! Did you cut your hair or is that an older photo?

I’m thinking about trying IVT for stress now that I see that is another option… What do you think?

Hey Mary! It’s an older picture. 😉 Yes, you can receive IV nutrients as a boost to more assertively support your general health. A Naturopathic Doctor who practices IVT can talk with you and customize an infusion that would be a good fit for you.
