The title alone seems impossible, but homemade ice cream is absolutely possible!
I’ve been making banana ice cream in my food processor for years. It’s simple, healthy and truly hits the spot as an alternative to regular ice cream.
I wanted to share this great new recipe that I came across. With all this warm sunny weather this is a great way to enjoy a healthier version of this classic summer treat.

One last thing… for all you serious ice cream lovers out there… I highly recommend a cookbook by Kelly Brozyna called “The Spunky Coconut Dairy Free Ice Cream Cookbook.” It contains countless dairy free, soy free, sugar free and vegan ice cream recipes. I have this book and we have made so many amazing ice cream treats from it. The ice cream turns out really well in an ice cream maker. For those who don’t have an ice cream maker, the recipes can be frozen in the freezer and hand turned every so often as it thickens. My boys and I love ice cream, and we can enjoy it with the bonus of being made from whole food, hypoallergenic ingredients. These delightful ice cream options convincingly look and taste like the dairy version. Summer Yum!
