Get Fresh: Melon Juice

Here’s a quick and simple little treat!

Cantaloupes are a very hydrating fruit.  They contain a lot of water and have that refreshingly sweet taste.  This is one of my favorite “juices” and it’s made in my blender.  No mechanical juicer required!


Take a couple handfuls of green, orange or a mixture of cantaloupe that has been chilled in the fridge and throw them in the blender.

Add a tiny bit of water (about 1/4 – 1/2 cup) and blend until fruit is liquified.

Pour through a strainer (nut milk bag, stainless steel mesh strainer, cheese cloth).  This removes the pulpy part of the blended fruit.

The end result… a delicious and thirst quenching juice.  Watermelons can also be “juiced” using this method.

This is great way to get fresh this spring, it can be used as a fun drink for those who are doing a “spring detox” and it can be a nice option for pure fluids in addition to water and/or herbal tea.  Also, these juices can be poured into popsicle molds and made into popsicles for a healthy and cool treat in the summer months.
